Figuring that it’d be more fun to do it than to buy it, we made pizza tonight. After scouring the city for frozen pizza crust dough (Harris Teeter-but made in Brooklyn), we decided on white pizza, veggie pizza and the meat-lover’s thing. Apparently, one of us can throw them up in the air (and catch them) while another is better suited to hold the video cam. Click the pic to YouTube-ify and watch the nothing-but-family fun. (Am a little new at my own YouTube channel; the prior link should take to you to all uploaded videos.

Just make some next time… It’s super simple:

Of course if you don’t want to wait, I just preheat my oven to 200F then shut it off and use it as a proofer…. 30-45 minutes in a bowl, and the dough is ready to bake…
To the uninitiated in ways of pizza-making, buying the crusts seemed WAY much easier. Seemed.
Those frozen doughs from Harris Teeter are great! Let them rise twice (a good 14 – 18 hours), smashing them down in between, and they make for a great Sicilian style crust.
HP also sells their in-house made pizza dough fresh in the deli section (at least at the Lawndale store).
Acronym hell: who is HP? (Harris Peter?)
Oooops. A case of S.A.C. Subliminal Abbreviation Confusion.
Yes, HP = Harry Peter = Harris Teeter.
Thought perhaps I’d have to go to Hogwarts to buy pizza dough! Thanks for the clarification. We’re going to try this again in a less hectic environment using the double smackdown suggestion above (from Liv). More ingredients. More remembering what order to do things. And, of course, a plethora of cheese.
