Made a night of it Friday with JW – girls’ night out. First to Bianca’s (my first time and there definitely will be a second), then to Lorraine Ahearn’s book [The Man Who Became Santa Claus] signing at Studio B and outside/downtown to First Friday where we met the Killians and chatted for a while in the pleasant November night. Lorraine led with a ‘black book’ joke (her notebook was white, the ‘anti-black book’) and loud applause, laughter and cheering were heard. Wonderful stories read in an accent I remember with fondness, having shed my similar accent ages ago! Lorraine is one of the only blog-readers who gets my sarcasm and jokes and returns the favor with her own.
