All Americans have health care. Fail.

According to Rep. Steve King, “All Americans have health care, every single one.”

He needs to be elected to the Stupid Hall of Fame. No, a whole LOT of Americans do NOT have healthcare. You’ve heard the horror stories. I have three friends and co-workers who had flu-like symptoms, were very sick and could not afford a walk-in medical care center’s costs and suffered from 3-8 days each when medication would have made them get better faster. They lost work time; they lost money.

How do these idiots get elected? Is Bill Maher right? Are Americans that stupid?

King also tells us, “85% of us (Americans) are insured.”

He may be off by about 3-5%

What’s the quality of that insurance, IF your figures are right? (I didn’t see a citation for the ‘fact’.) Does it pay for sick visits or are there $5K deductibles?

Actually… a good point was brought up (not by King, but wondering if this is his perspective). Health care? You technically can go to the emergency room regardless and get it. You’re not denied. The term “health care”though usually refers to the insurance itself.

Not saying that it’s right, but if that was the case then that would explain the “all Americans” quote.
