UPDATE: Well, it wasn’t the update that messed up the client’s email (but it did mess up some other stuff so he was grateful). His ISP changed the SMTP rule and didn’t tell anyone. Troubleshooting coast-to-coast on a Monday!
Client called early this a.m. with a pressing email issue. Long story short: it HAD to be a problem with his Mac because the email worked just fine. Mac? Mac? I don’t know anything about Macs but I do read dm’s blog’s feed and he mentioned an update and a corrupted prefs file and darnit, I knew where to find it and bam! Forwarded the info to the client who talked to his Apple guy and sure enough, the Mac update did it to him, too. That’s why I read blogs.
