Ed Williams sends a 2-page explanation of mechanical problems delaying thousands of subscribers’ N&R, US Today and NY Times deliveries. Didn’t affect my paper; have already perused it by 6:30 a.m. Not getting the paper can mess up my morning; grateful thanks for the on-time delivery.
Mine hasn’t come yet which is why I’m online at this time in the morning. A creature of habit, I HAVE to have my news first thing. Coffee and paper. First thing.
I’m starting to shake and get woozy.
Here’s what I think you should do.
1. Call JR. Put on IRATE voice.
2. Explain that it’s completely ruined your day.
3. Ask for his lawyer’s name.
4. Get your carrier’s home address.
5. Threaten anything.
Pick JR up from floor. Dust him off. Wish him a happy early-road-ice holiday season.
I’m afraid I couldn’t muster IRATE at this point. Would whining work?
I’m hurt.
My paper didn’t come either and my wife reacted just like both of you: first, being irritable and then yelling at me.
I told I could take on the night shift so that I could deliver the paper, too. She gave me one of those enigmatic smiles you women do so well.
“Yelling at me.”
Like, is this something new? It’s your JOB. It’s every husband’s JOB. Especially in the morning.
