ConvergeSouth needs some grunt work help from locals

We need your help. We need volunteers. Opportunities:

  • DRIVERS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY- we need people to pick up Marriott hotel guests and taken them to the Conference building at A&T at 7:45 a.m.
  • DRIVERS ON FRIDAY - run a “shuttle” from the parking area to the conference building (we have a van; I’m trying to avoid having two) on Friday only from 7:30-ish until 9:00-ish). Then park and join the conference. This is up in the air; I can’t tell how many people we’re going to need or how long the “runs” will last. Can you be flexible? Find a map here.
  • REGISTRATION - we need 2-5 adults to supervise and help register people. This involves a lot of pointing. (Breakfast is there. Press registers there.) Handing out nametags and making on the spot nametags is the big job. We need you both Friday and Saturday mornings.
  • LUNCH SUPERVISION – this also involves pointing but also involves taking a lunch ticket and pointing a person to lunch; implicit is trying to prevent unregistered people from taking lunch or the hungry from taking multiples. We have a caterer; this does not involve cleanup of any sort.
  • AIRPORT DRIVERS – if you can take an occasional Friday speaker to the airport in the middle of day when they let me know their flight schedules, I’ll let you know when and where to meet the session leader.

If you can volunteer, please email me and let me know which job you would just love to handle. Again, my sincere thanks for the outpouring of volunteering that’s happening right now and keeping me (what’s left :) on balance.

I can drive Friday morning, possibly shuttle to the airport during the day (before 2:30) OR work a ergistration table. Just let me know.
