Well, the senator only recently started blogging, so I guess that office is not as up-to-speed on gadgets as some of us. Still, if they respond to everyone the way they responded to me, I have no complaints.

Although it would have been more fun if they added you to new email lists instead of being both polite and efficient, you gotta give credit where it’s due. Kudos to Sen. Burr’s office. But wouldn’t it be easier to automate that and use some of those new-fangled tools? Honestly, we can’t trust email unsubscribes like the one you used so many people will simply refuse to use them.

My personal e-mail address has been on a list for Richard Burr news releases, which do not have an unsubscribe link on them. So I hit “reply” to unsubscribe and got a very courteous personal response from David Ward in the senator’s office, telling me I’d be unsubscribed.

That’s not the kind of spam story you hear very often, so I thought I’d share.

Yeah. That definitely would piss me off if people register you up for email lists that you didn’t ask for. I seem to remember reading about MacMinute being decent. In any case, the remove thing is stupid although it could be that they use mailman or something like that too. Hate junk like that. You should blot out the emails in the to: column and post the graphic. Nothing like a little tarring and feathering.

You sure you don’t mean mactech.com? machtech.com is registered in Taiwan somewhere and not even about mac stuff. From the above, unless it’s a typo or you reported the wrong person.
